School Board

The Beckenham Primary School Board is comprised of 12 members including the principal, parents, staff, and community members.

The board plays a crucial role in promoting effective school governance. The boards contributions ensure the efficient use of school resources and align to the school’s priorities with the expectations of the community and the needs of the students.

Board members assist to make decisions about fees and charges, book lists, sponsorship and dress codes.

The board does not intervene in the control or management of the school. This is the role of the principal.

The board’s function involves collaborating with the principal to establish the school’s overarching strategic pathways, devising the business plan, overseeing the school’s performance, and assisting the school in fulfilling its objectives.

The board possesses direct knowledge of policy reviews and current events at the school. Our top priority is to evaluate the school’s performance in alignment with the business plan. Staff members attend meetings to keep the board informed about the diverse areas of learning within the school and how student requirements are being addressed.

Parents or Community Members wishing to join the board are welcome to email Charlotte Shaw, Board Chair at charlotte.shaw@education.wa.edu.au
