Languages
Our Mandarin Language program is a comprehensive and engaging program that has been running since 2018.
The program is designed for students in Years 3-6 and provides them with 55 minutes of Mandarin language instruction each week. In addition to language instruction, the program also incorporates a variety of cultural activities such as a whole school Chinese New Year Lion Dance incursion, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. Students can experience cooking traditional dishes and taste a variety of Chinese food.
The program also includes hands-on activities where students learn Chinese calligraphy and the use of chopsticks. Students are given the opportunity to participate in out of school competitions organise by the Chinese Teachers’ Association of WA (CLTAWA) and the Southern Chinese Learning Hub. Our Mandarin Language Program is a fun and rewarding way for students to learn about Chinese language and culture.
